Today is Election Day! Saturday, May 9th

Election Day is this Saturday, May 9 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Since city, school district and county jurisdictions overlap, in some
cases, voters may need to visit multiple polling places to cast ballots in
all elections applicable to where they live.

Frisco voters residing in Denton County - Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2
will consider a local option election proposition for the legal sale of
all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages.

The City of Frisco General Election asks voters to elect two, new at-large
council members.  Due to term limits, Mayor Pro Tem Tony Felker and Deputy
Mayor
Pro Tem Joy West are not eligible for reelection.

Frisco Independent School District voters will elect two school board
trustees.

Denton County - Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Local Option Election:
Denton County Precincts: 115, 117, 119, 124, 131, 135 and 137
Election Day Polling Place:  Frisco Lakes Amenities Center, 7277 Frisco
Lakes Drive

City of Frisco, FISD General Election:
City Precinct 1:  (Denton County Precincts 117, 119, 124, 131 and 137)
Election Day Polling Place:  Pioneer Heritage Middle School, 1649 High
Shoals Drive

City Precinct 2:  (Collin County Precincts 30, 92 and 111)
Election Day Polling Place:  Staley Middle School, 6927 Stadium Lane

City Precinct 3:  (Collin County Precincts 87, 101, 117, 118, 127, 134 and
146)
Election Day Polling Place:  Wester Middle School, 12293 Shepherds Hill

Panther Creek Closed on Preston Road on May 11th

On Monday, May 11, Panther Creek Parkway will be closed at
Preston Road as part of TxDOT's road widening project.  The street will
close at 9 a.m. and is expected to reopen at 4 p.m.
During this closure, residents who normally use Panther Creek Parkway to
access their neighborhood from Preston Road will need to access the
neighborhood by using Eldorado Parkway and Hillcrest Road.  Detour signs
will be posted

City Council To Appoint Residents To Serve on Charter Review Commission; May 14th

The Frisco City Council calling on residents to serve on a
ten member
Charter Review Commission (CRC). Frisco's first city charter was adopted
in 1987 and revised in 2002.

The Council plans to appoint people to the commission at its regularly
scheduled City Council meeting on May 19. The anticipated start date for
the CRC is June.  Commission members will be required to meet at least
twice each month until November, when it's anticipated the commission's
review will be complete.

Citizens appointed to the Charter Review Commission will review government
operations
under the charter and determine if changes are necessary;
propose ways to insure Frisco complies with its charter; and report
findings and recommendations to the Frisco City Council.

NTTA Road Advisory - Please Note the Following Closures

Sam Rayburn Tollway
Nightly on Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7
North- and southbound on Lake Forest Drive between the Sam Rayburn Tollway
(SRT) frontage roads will be closed from 7 p.m. each night until 6 a.m.
the following morning. These overnight closures are needed for
construction crews to do bridge work over Lake Forest Drive.

North- and southbound lanes on Coit Road between the Sam Rayburn Tollway
(SRT) frontage roads will be closed from 7 p.m., until 6 a.m. the
following morning. The overnight closure is needed for construction crews
to do bridge work over Coit Road.

The NTTA schedules closures at times when traffic is the lightest.  All
closures are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed, if
necessary.
