Rotary highlights Frisco high school students

Each month the Frisco Rotary Club that meets at noon honors outstanding Frisco ISD seniors for their accomplishments and achievements.

 On February 25 Centennial High School students Ryan Garner and Iqra Malik were introduced to the Rotary Club. Garner is the son of Ken Garner and Cindy Cutshall. He is active in wrestling and the wrestling club and also coaches a youth team. He has been team captain during his junior and senior year. He was district champion this year and has qualified for state competition. He also is a young entrepreneur who has started his own shingle repair business as a high school student. He hopes to attend Texas A&M University. 

Malik is the daughter of Farouq Ahmad and Saiqa Azmat. She is president of the Interact Club and active in the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish Honor Society, and served as Vice President of the Key Club in her sophomore year.

 

She has received numerous awards including NCWIT Award, UIL Current Events, Academic Excellence Awards for Pre AP: Physics Spanish, Spanish II and World History. Her volunteer efforts include the Angel Tree project; polio project, the FEF Chili Challenge, Gary Burns Fun Run, IACC-Sunday School (tutoring). She hopes to pursue a degree in electrical or computer engineering.
