The FC Dallas squad limps back to Frisco with a mixed bag of results from their South American trip.
The good news: The offensive attack was cohesive, and they managed to score three goals a game.
The bad: Well, the bad is they gave up four goals a game. To compound their defenses problems, Defender Marcelo Saragosa will have to undergo another surgery on his right knee. It’s doubtful that he has even fully recovered from his last to surgery to repair his medial meniscus.
As Steve Hunt / reported earlier in the week, Andre Rocha showed up to camp in less than stellar shape. Head coach Schellas Hyndman is none too pleased but offered optimism about Rocha’s ability to get into shape fast.
The competition they faced in Brazil is a tick above, or at least on par, with what they’ll be facing in the United States, and it is very encouraging for Dallas that they could stay in the games with the international squads.
David Ferreira is due to join his teammates in Frisco Friday, if all goes well with his Visa. Anyone who’s counted on a visa will know that problems and holdups occur often.
FC Dallas has one more tune up before the season opener. They take on Club Atletico Paranaense Saturday 03/14 - 7:30 p.m
