Tupinamba Mexican Restaurant is bringing 63 years of family tradition to Frisco. The Dominguez family will be opening a sister restaurant called Tupy’s that will be located in The Shops at Starwood.
Son Jeff Dominguez will be operating the new restaurant. He said with the area growing that there was really a need for a good family-owned Tex Mex restaurant here. The new restaurant will have a casual appeal.
“I think people can identify them as one in the same,” Dominguez said. “All the recipes will be the same. Those recipes have been tried and true for 63 years.”
The 4,800 square foot restaurant will seat approximately 170 and a patio is still being determined. The restaurant will have a bar side with a partial wall division of some kind that will separate from the dining room. Dominguez they are going through the permitting process now, construction will being in May and the restaurant should be open in July sometime.
When asked about his hopes and aspirations for the new restaurant, Dominguez said “I hope to stay open for a long time.” He thinks the first restaurant has been around so long because it is owner operated and the food in genuinely good and flavorful. “The Shops at Starwood welcomes Tupy’s to Frisco. Their rich Dallas history and success will bring another marquee restaurant to the already successful group of family-owned businesses in our center and the Frisco community,” states Kirk Hermansen, developer of The Shops at Starwood. “The addition of a Tex Mex concept will solidify The Shops at Starwood as a dining destination where people find one of kind concepts and authentic environments.”| < Prev |
