After years in the corporate world, Frisco resident Stefanie Domsky is turning her attention away from corporate America and towards her passion for animals. She started Concierge 4 Critters on March 1, 2010 in hopes of finding a career that fulfilled her in every way.
On a business trip out of town Domsky found she had nowhere to keep her two dogs and couldn’t find an animal service that satisfied her liking. She said that kennels are a good option for some people but not for her and other services she found didn’t offer her the peace of mind that she was looking for. That experience led her to know what she wanted to pursue when the time was right. She has no children and considers her two dogs her four-legged children.
Since she feels that strong of an attachment to her animals she is sure that there are other people that feel the same way about their animals too. Concierge 4 Critters is service that caters to dogs and cats.
“We are catering our professional services that give people a piece of mind,” Domsky said.
The company provides pet care in the pet’s home or Domsky’s home. She will walk the animal, allow for bathroom time, and give fresh food/ water daily. She said pet care in home reduces stress for the animal and allows them to stay on the same diet and exercise routine.
Concierge 4 Critters offers several different services; there is animal walking during the day, there is pet sitting/vacation services, over night pet care in either customers home or her home and there is pet taxi/ chauffer services. The customer picks what services work best for them based on their needs.
Her pet sitting/ vacation services include full animal care, mail/paper pick up and other things someone might want done while they are on vacation away from their home.
“We are there to make sure your animal and home are taken care,” Domsky said. “We can become your best friend. I am a very passionate good hearted person.”
When new customers first contact Concierge 4 Critters they are asked to fill out a very detailed questionnaire online that covers a wide range of topics from is the animal microchipped to what are the pets dislikes. The questionnaire also asked various questions about the house such as the name of the alarm company and the location of flashlights. The questionnaire gives enough information that Concierge 4 Critters could handle any situation that arises while a home owner is away. Domsky also personally meets with all new clients so that she can meet the animals and the owners can feel comfortable with her.
“The more I know about you the better I can serve you,” Domsky said.
All the information on the pets, owners, and the home are kept in the Critters database and can be accessed by employees via their blackberries anytime so each time an employee shows up to a home they have all that information with them. Domsky feels that this electronic data system is safer than a paper one.
When it comes to giving house keys to someone, Domsky understands that not everyone is comfortable with that and she offers an alternative option. She will provide the customer with a lockbox, similar to what a real estate agent uses, which will stay on the home property and only be accessed with a code when she is there to care for the pets.
When Domsky or one of her employees goes to visit a pet she is armed with a backpack that is filled with toys for animals of every size as well treats or other special things. Upon leaving the house the owners are notified via email, text or handwritten note about how the visit with the animal went.
Concierge 4 Critters will work with customers once in a while when they are of town or can walk animals daily if the owner works long hours or has late meetings. All of the employees are licensed in animal CPR, bonded and insured.
Domsky is passionate about Concierge 4 Critters and hopes that the passion will turn into a successful business where she has an opportunity to work with animals every day.
