Halloween Fun in Frisco!

Ghosts, goblins, and trick or treat are all things that remind us of Halloween. The yearly holiday that almost every child looks forward to, Halloween is a time when kids can dress up and be creative.
Halloween is also one of the world’s oldest holidays, dating back all the way to pagan times in the very early centuries.
Frisco is a great town to live in during the month of October. There are tons of fun activities for kids to participate in to help them get into the Halloween spirit.
Here are just a few fun activities and things to do around town that will help to get your kiddos in the Halloween spirit:
- Kids-N-Art in Frisco will be hosting a Pumpkin Painting Party from 4-6 on Saturday, October 10th. Kids will each be given a pumpkin that they will be able to paint and decorate. Kids-N-Art will provide each participating child will be provided with a pumpkin, the tools to paint, and they will even receive a special Halloween treat. The cost per child is $12 if they are a Kids-N-Art Student. If they are not a student, the cost is $15 per child.

Celina is home to the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch. Back in 1997, Rick Kimbrell started the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch so that kids could witness what it was like to be on a real farm. There are hundreds and hundreds of pumpkins to choose from. Located on County Road 126, between HWY 380 and Farm-to-Market Road 455, this pumpkin patch farm aims to please. They have all sorts of fun activities for children to participate in, including: Petting Farm, Hayride, Spider Hay Bale, Roping Pen, Hay Stacks to climb on, a 2 acre catch and release pond for fishing, and other such fun outdoor autumn activities. First United Methodist Church in Frisco announced on their website a few days ago that their annual pumpkin patch is now open. There are hundreds of wonderful pumpkins to choose from. The patch is open from 10am to Dusk Monday through Saturday and Noon to Dusk on Sunday. Remember to come early because the best pumpkins always go first. Frisco Fire Safety Town will be holding a Trick or Treat night inside their miniature Frisco town on October 23rd from 6pm-9pm. Kids and their parents can go around to each of the businesses Trick or Treating and the businesses owners will be there at each location to pass out treats and candy! The Frisco Fire Clowns will also be at various locations inside the town passing out goodies. This is a free event and fun for the whole family! The Villages of El Dorado is hosting a small family festival on Saturday, October 24th from 3pm-6pm. There will be trick or treating to at all of the businesses in the area where kids can come dressed in their favorite costume and the business owners will be passing out candy and treats. There will also be games and prizes hosted by Radio Disney.

On Halloween, The Plano Centre will be home to the North Texas Kids Family Expo. This annual Expo is known to be one of the largest Halloween extravaganzas in the whole north Texas area. The exhibit is open from 10am-4pm on Halloween. There will be costume contests, live entertainment, bounce houses, door prizes, arts and crafts, and much, much more. Ronald McDonald will also be in attendance. He is set to be there greeting children at 1pm. There are several vendors that will be exhibiting at the event. All of the vendors are geared towards kids, such as: Ballet studios, photographers, gymnastics places, pediatricians, and other such businesses geared towards children. Whether you are shopping for your child’s favorite super hero costume or dressing your little girl up as a pretty princess, Halloween is such a fun time to make memories and let your child’s imagination grow. That is the very simple reason that Halloween has such a long history of being such a popular holiday, it is full of spirit, sweets, treats, and fun!
