Believe it or not we have a whole population of Frisco that is over 21 and a lot of those folks really like their sports. Now those folks have a new venue that is working towards entertaining them. Coach Joe’s at Preston & Main Street is under new ownership as of February, 2009. You will start to see that new signage promoting the new name “Buck Wilds” in the coming month.
Buck Wilds is still family friendly just not as focused on family as before, according to manager Joseph Rushing. Buck Wilds will be working more with the “minor league” sports in the area, as opposed to the younger crowd. Mr. Rushing said “Kids are still welcome,” but they would like to get more into the “over 21” crowd, especially after 9pm and on the weekend evenings.
Before Frisco residents would descend on the restaurant during football season then disappear until the following season. The new ownership is looking to expand the sports focus to include the UFC, Basketball and other sports.
Buck Wilds still has great food, the VIP lounge for your private parties, and, of course, lots of sports. To entertain the “over 21” crowd there are local bands performing every Saturday night.
A special three-month “Battle of the Bands” will begin on May 14 and continue into July on the 1st Thursday of each month. Hosted by Jon Pat Dickinson there is up to $2,000 in prizes for the artists competing.
There’s a little bit of something for everyone, so don’t be shy when you see the new name. It’s just one more great place to get together in Frisco.
