Non-Surgical Renessa® Treatment Now Available for Women with Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI)
Local Ob Gyn Physician offers a single 30 minute in-office treatment, Renessa Frisco TX
Dr. Jonathan Weinstein, now offers a new non-surgical treatment for women who suffer from stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in Frisco. SUI is the involuntary leakage of urine which occurs during routine activities such as laughing, coughing, sneezing or exercise. SUI is often a result of childbirth and occurs when pelvic muscles no longer provide adequate support to prevent the opening of the bladder.
Many women are not interested in undergoing a surgical procedure to treat their SUI. Others mistakenly accept SUI as a natural consequence of aging or childbirth. Fortunately, there are an increasing number of solutions to this embarrassing condition.
One of the non-surgical options is the Renessa® treatment. During the Renessa procedure, controlled, low temperature heat is applied to multiple, very small sites in the urethra and bladder. Upon healing, the treated sites are firmer, providing greater resistance to leaks. The Renessa treatment is performed in Dr. Weinstein’s office in approximately 30 minutes using local anesthesia. There are no incisions, bandages or dressings. Unlike surgery, Renessa requires little or no downtime. Women can safely resume most normal activities the same or next day.
"Although SUI is not a life-threatening condition, it can severely impact a woman’s quality of life" said Dr. Jonathan Weinstein, Frisco Womens Health, "Many women are looking for an improvement in their symptoms so that they can enjoy routine activities again such as exercising or playing with their children. The Renessa® treatment offers women a non-surgical option to reduce or eliminate their incontinence episodes so they can get back to enjoying their lives without worrying about leaks."
Most women treated with Renessa experience improvement within 60-90 days. In two large U.S. Clinical Trials, three quarters of women treated with Renessa experienced a significant improvement in their symptoms and quality of life, and nearly 60% were able to eliminate pad use. In addition, the Renessa treatment is very safe; there have been no serious complications reported to date.
For more information about the Renessa® treatment, contact Dr. Jonathan Weinstein with Frisco Womens Health at 972-668-8300.
