U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison made a stop at Bonnie Ruth’s Café on Wednesday morning as part of her “Declare Your Independence” bus tour. The two –week tour is making stops all over Texas.

“Voting in the primary is the key,” she said. “I know there are going to be some surprises on March 2 and I am excited about it.”

Her tour is aimed at encouraging people to declare their independence from current Governor Rick Perry.  Independence can be declared starting on March 2 in the primary election. March 2 is also Texas Independence Day.

Hutchison encouraged everyone to take 10 friends with them to the poles and March 2. U.S. Congressman Dr. Michael Burgess was also in attendance to support Bailey and said he was sure everyone knew more than ten people. People should invite their whole email list to vote.

Hutchinson thanked him for the support and thanked everyone in attendance.

Hutchison also went over some of the things she plans to do if elected as Governor of Texas such as reform government to end cronyism, improve education, strengthen transportation, and keep taxes low and other things.
