On Saturday, June 27th, Kotta Sushi Lounge and the Shops at Starwood are set to host Moonlight Martini’s. This is a new upscale event to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The attendees of the event will have the opportunity to shop around the participating shops of Starwood, while tasting all of the various foods that this area has to offer. The event will be filled with fun, food, drinks, auctions, and a variety of booth stations. Everyone in Frisco is encouraged to attend to help raise money to find a cure for this disease. Pre-sale tickets are available online for purchase for $25 each or at the door for $30. Individual tickets include food tastings from all participating vendors, the opportunity to bid on auctions, and visit carious vendor booths. The event will be held at the Shops at Starwood from 5pm-10pm.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder which affects the lungs and the digestive of about 30,000 Americans nationwide. Much progress has been made throughout the years to help extend the lives of those affected by Cystic Fibrosis, but there is still no cure. Back in the 1950’s, a child diagnosed with CF was not expected to live through elementary school. Today, those with CF can live well into their 30’s. The median survival age is 37 years old. Every year over 1,000 cases of Cystic Fibrosis are reported each year.
