Town Hall Meeting, June 1st

Higher education, the Denton County Local Option Election and the new storm water fee are among the topics to be discussed at a Town Hall meeting on Monday, June 1.

The meeting will be held in the City Hall council chambers of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, 6101 Frisco Square Boulevard.  The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and wraps up at 9 p.m.  The first 100 residents who attend the Town Hall meeting will receive a free 'Frisco' aluminum water bottle, which is an eco-friendly product.

Dr. Jon Lineberger, Assistant Vice President and Director of Dallas Baptist University- Frisco,  and Dr. Cary Israel, President of Collin College, will brief residents on higher education opportunities right here in Frisco.  Town Hall meeting attendees will also learn more about the Denton County Local Option Election and its impact on Frisco.

Representatives with the Frisco Police Department will also brief residents and their continuing drug education efforts throughout our city and in our schools.  City staff will provide updates on local road improvement and construction projects, as well.

Residents will learn more about a new storm water fee designed to help prevent flooding, protect   creeks and reduce erosion.  Gary Hartwell, Director of Public Works, will also share information about the city's new Water Management Plan, which includes Drought Contingency and Water Efficiency plans. Marla Roe, Director of the Frisco Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), will share details of a recent tourism study commissioned by the CVB, Learn more about the impact tourism has on our local economy.  And, speaking of tourism, find out more about the Frisco Heritage Museum and its successful first year - plus, get the patriotic party plan for the 8th Annual Frisco Freedom Fest. Town Hall meetings last two hours and are held three times each year.  The next Town Hall meeting is  October 5.
