FISD will host Head Start Program Pre-Registration on Wednesday, April 7th 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Thursday, April 8th 8:30 a.m . - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Registration will be held at the Early Childhood School at 10330 Red Cedar.
Head Start is a Federal program for preschool children from low-income families. Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive free medical and dental care, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe setting.
Head Start helps all children succeed. Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. Most children in Head Start are between the ages three and five years old.
Qualifications for Head Start:
- Your child must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1
- Your child must be income eligible
- Your Family may have a special need / disability
- Meets the definition of Homeless
In order to apply, please bring:
- Child’s Birth Certificate
- Child’s Social Security Card (If applicable)
- Annual ARD/ IEP (if applicable)
- Child’s up-to-date Shot Record
- Medicaid Card (If applicable)
- Two (2) - Proof of residency within the Frisco ISD (within previous month)
- Income Verification - Tax Return 1040 pages 1 & 2, or last 4 Pay stubs
W-2, SSI,TANF, Child Support or any Proof of income (tax statement, public assistance (TANF/AFDC), unemployment statement, notarized letter from employer on letterhead indicating employment history other public assistance
