After losing the series opener to Fairbanks 7-6 in OT last Wednesday, the Texas Tornadoes fought back and defeated them 2-1 on Friday night and then 5-2 on Saturday night.  Game 2 of the series ended up being a defensive match and there were more fights than scoring.  The game ended in a 2-1 shootout.  James Howard and Eric Ware scored the goals in the shoot out to pull away for the win.   The Tornadoes were not done on Saturday night striking first with David Rigatti's goal 18:53 into the first period.   They got 5 goals from four different. players.  Nick Taurence scored one in the second and another in the third.  Scott Deur and Axel Boyer also scored on the win.  The Tornadoes needed this series win to build their momentum.  Jack Prince had three goals and two assists in the series.  Defense was the main key protecting the puck, and controlling the power play.  Texas Goalie Dan Sullivan has 21 saves on Saturday night to clinch the series.   Texas also had 4 power play goals on the series.  The Texas Tornadoes will be off the next three days and then travel to Fairbanks for a rematch, but in their home arena.  Hopefully they can continue this streak and return home with two more games in the bag.  They are 18-19-4 with 40 points and currently in third place in the South Division.
