Boals Celebrates Successful Jump Rope For Heart Campaign

Boals Elementary School Principal Christina Beran, Assistant Principal Courtney Jennings and PE Coach Justin Lowry got covered with chocolate sauce and feathers recently to reward students for surpassing their Jump Rope For Heart fundraising goal.

They promised students that if they met their goal of $10,000, students who raised $150 or more would get to take part in turning them into ducks! The three-week campaign raised $11,292, up from $4,800 last year.

“I put the teachers to the test as well and made a class competition to see which teacher could support and push their class to earn the most,” Lowry said. “The winning teacher got to silly string the rest of their grade level team members which was really fun for the students as well.”

Jump Rope For Heart is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. The event engages elementary students with jumping rope while empowering them to improve their own health and help other kids with heart health issues. Funds raised support heart health research, advocacy for physical education and nutrition wellness in schools and training courses for middle and high school students in CPR.
