CTE Student Wins 2nd Place in Statewide Poster Contest

A graphic design and illustration student from the Career and Technical Education Center student won a $2,500 scholarship from the Texas Hospitality Association.

Dana Hristov took second place in a poster contest aimed at raising awareness about underage drinking.

The contest was open to high school seniors in Texas public, private, charter and home schools. Posters had to convey the message or theme that “If you are under 21, it’s illegal to consume or purchase alcoholic beverages in Texas.”

The Texas Hospitality Association will reproduce, display and distribute winning posters as part of its statewide alcohol awareness campaign.

The $2,500 scholarship will be paid directly to the accredited college, university or institution of higher learning of Hristov’s choice.
