Frisco firefighters are providing fire and EMS services to the City of Blanco, which is being impacted by flood waters, following a request from the state for mutual aid.
Four Frisco firefighters departed last night, rallying in Lewisville with other task force members before heading to the Texas Hill Country town near the Blanco River*. (Blanco is west of Austin and about 50 miles north of San Antonio.)
The call for help came from the Texas Interstate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS). Frisco firefighters deployed in a Type-3 Engine, which has ‘all terrain’ capabilities.
The task force team arrived in Blanco about 2:30 a.m. The deployment could last from seven to ten days.
