The Student Council at Scott Elementary sold Val-o-Grams to students, teachers and parents during the week before Valentine’s Day and donated the proceeds to Operation Kindness, a nonprofit animal-welfare organization that cares for homeless or unwanted cats and dogs in a no-kill environment.
The Student Council raised $322.24 and two students went to the shelter in Carrollton to drop off the check.
