Student Golfers Place at State

Frisco Schools

Student athletes from Centennial, Frisco, Liberty and Wakeland high schools represented Frisco ISD this week at the 2014-2015 Boys and Girls Golf State Championships held at Wolfdancer Golf Club in Lost Pines, Texas.

Wakeland’s Brielle Ward, the girls’ regional winner, placed second at state, just one stroke behind the state champion in 5A.

The girls’ team from Liberty finished 5th overall, shooting a combined 666 in two days of competition. Team members included Cheleen Cousins, Makenna Davidson, Darby Deans, Loren Matrone and Natasha Sun.

Also advancing to the state tournament were Katie Crumbley of Centennial and Brandon Smith of Frisco High, who was the boys’ regional champion.
